Provider: Futuready Apps
Effective date: July 21, 2026
Calorie Lens Tracker is an account-free app with no developer-operated cloud service. Food photos, nutrition records, saved meals, notes, goals, and optional weight check-ins stay on the user’s device. Free users may see a consent-gated Google AdMob banner, Premium subscriptions are processed by Google Play, and optional voice search is handled by Android’s configured speech-recognition provider, as described below.
Data the app handles
The app lets users choose or take food photos, review an on-device food identification estimate, search bundled USDA foods, scan nutrition-label text, edit serving and nutrition information, save favorite foods and reusable meals, add notes, set local nutrition goals, record date-scoped water intake, and optionally record weight. These thumbnails, entries, favorites, meals, notes, goals, water records, and weight check-ins are stored only on the user’s device.
Photos and camera
Gallery photos are selected through Android’s system photo picker. The app does not request broad access to the photo library. If the user chooses the camera option, the app asks the installed camera app to create one photo in a temporary app cache file. Food identification runs on the device. Photos are not uploaded to Futuready Apps or a third party.
Nutrition-label and voice search
Nutrition-label text recognition runs on the device using a bundled text-recognition component. The app does not upload label photos or recognized label text. Voice food search is optional and starts only when the user taps the microphone button. The app does not request microphone permission or record audio itself; it opens Android’s configured speech-recognition service and asks that service to prefer offline recognition. The configured provider may process speech according to its own settings and privacy policy. Calorie Lens Tracker receives only the returned words and stores them locally only if the user uses the result.
Export
Users can export diary records as a CSV file. The app writes that file only to the location the user selects through Android’s system document picker. Once exported, the copy is controlled by the user and the selected storage provider.
Collection, sharing, advertising, and analytics
The app has no account system or developer-operated backend. Core diary data is not sent to Futuready Apps. A Google AdMob banner is displayed at the top of the app after the app checks the user’s applicable consent choices through Google’s User Messaging Platform.
According to Google’s disclosure for the Google Mobile Ads SDK, the SDK automatically collects and shares the device IP address, user product interactions such as app launches and ad taps or views, diagnostic information such as performance and stability data, and device or account identifiers such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID. Google uses this information for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. The SDK encrypts this data in transit using TLS. Google may use the IP address to estimate a device’s general location.
Calorie Lens Tracker does not send food photos, recognized foods, label text, diary entries, notes, saved meals, weight, water, or nutrition goals to AdMob. Futuready Apps does not sell this local health and nutrition data. Optional voice search is an explicit user-requested transfer to Android’s configured speech-recognition provider, whose processing is controlled by that provider rather than Futuready Apps.
Premium subscriptions and Google Play Billing
Optional monthly and annual Premium subscriptions are offered through Google Play Billing. Google Play displays the localized price, trial eligibility, renewal terms, and purchase confirmation and processes payment information under Google’s own privacy policy and terms. Calorie Lens Tracker receives only the product and purchase status needed to unlock or restore Premium and acknowledge the purchase. Futuready Apps does not receive or store a user’s card number or other payment credentials.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled through Google Play. The app provides Restore purchase and Manage subscription controls in Settings. Premium removes the AdMob banner and unlocks the features described on the in-app purchase screen.
Ad privacy choices
Where required, the app presents Google’s consent message before requesting ads. If Google indicates that a privacy-options entry point is required, an Ad privacy choices button appears in the app’s Settings screen so the user can review or change those choices. Users can also reset or delete the Android advertising ID in Android Settings.
Storage and retention
Nutrition records, free daily scan count, and settings remain on the device until the user deletes them. Camera cache files are temporary. Android may remove cached files automatically. Cloud backup is disabled for the app. Google Play retains subscription and transaction records under its own retention practices.
Delete your data
Users can erase entries, photos, notes, favorites, saved meals, goals, water records, and weight check-ins from Settings by selecting Delete all local data and confirming. Users can also clear the app’s storage in Android Settings or uninstall the app. Exported CSV copies must be deleted by the user from the location where they were saved. The app has no developer-operated account or cloud database. Google Play subscription and payment records are managed through the user’s Google Play account.
Children
The app is intended only for adults age 18 and older and is not directed to children. Futuready Apps does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Security
Keeping diary and photo data on the device limits exposure. AdMob and Google Play Billing network data is encrypted in transit. Device access and security remain controlled by the user and Android.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Material changes will be reflected in the app and on the public policy page before the affected release is distributed.
